Cyril John Crossman of 9 Marlborough Road, London, S.E., attested for service with the 20th Battalion London Regiment at Blackheath on 1 September 1914. After active service in France/Flanders, March-June 1915, he was transferred home. A copied letter in his papers states he was gassed at the battle of Loos, 25 September 1915. On 31 January 1916 he gained a commission in the 10th Battalion Border Regiment. Returning to France in July 1917 he was wounded at Beaumont Hamel on 19 November 1917 and was invalided home and found to be unfit for further active service.

Frederick Sim Carl Taylor was born on 3 September 1890 at Newtown, N. Wales. A Musician by occupation, he attested for service with the 15th Battalion London Regiment on 29 November 1915. He was discharged to a commission in the 20th Battalion London Regiment on 31 July 1917. Serving in France, and on attachment to the 1st/4th Battalion London Regiment, he was wounded on 23 August 1918 and invalided home. Both pairs sold with copied service papers.
