Four: Private D. O’Sullivan, 108th, late 4th Foot

Crimea 1854-56, 3 clasps, Alma, Inkermann, Sebastopol, unnamed, carriage between 1st and 2nd clasp broken, 2nd and 3rd clasps loose; Abyssinia 1867 (3267 D. O’Sullivan, 1st Battn. 4th The K.O.R. Regt.) suspension refixed; Army L.S. & G.C., V.R., 3rd issue, small letter reverse (2490 Denis O’Sullivan, 108th Regt.); Turkish Crimea 1855, British issue (3218 4th) [no other inscription], plugged and fitted with British Crimea style suspension, first two with contact marks and edge bruising, good fine and better (4) £700-800

Dennis O’Sullivan was born in Co. Kerry. A Labourer, he attested for the 53rd Foot at Baggotstown on 29 August 1853, aged 19 years. He transferred to the 4th Foot as a Volunteer on 14 February 1854 and served with them in the Crimea and in Abyssinia. On 24 May 1868 he transferred to the 108th Foot and was awarded the Army L.S. & G.C. Medal whilst serving with them. He was discharged at Netley in 1876. Sold with copied service papers and roll extracts which confirm the medals and clasps.
