William Dunnett Spanton, FRCS (1840-1922), from Hanley, founder of the North Staffordshire Field Club. The scratched inscription on the reverse provides valuable information as to the age of the Birmingham medallist Arthur Fenwick, who set up in business in his own name in 1888 and whose dates are unrecorded by Hawkins and Brown
