Francis Theresa Stuart, Duchess of Richmond, 1667, uniface, bronzed lead, 70 mm, by J. Rottiers, Francis Theresa Stuart’s draped bust, left (MI i, 541/195). Very fine and scarce, die flaws show this to have been a later striking, as indeed all examples of this medal are believed to be (£60-80)
Francis Stuart was considered one of the greatest beauties at the Court of Charles II. She formed the model for the Britannia to be found on the Peace of Breda medal (MI I, 535/185).
