Coronation, 1937, small brass commemorative medallion of the Jewish Orphanage, Norwood, 28mm (BHM 4360 and note). Very fine, slightly discoloured, rare (£30-40)

Brown notes that the orphanage in West Norwood in south east London had the capacity to house 200 children. One would assume this medal was distributed to the children as part of the Coronation festivities, and if this is the case no more than 200 would have been struck; bearing in mind that over the years many will have been lost or thrown away, the number of surviving examples is probably far less.
