Thomas McIntosh served with “F” Company in the Sudan, and was appointed Lance Corporal on 1 October 1898, just after the end of the campaign. During the Boer War he served in the Mounted Infantry Company of the Cameron Highlanders and was wounded in the arm at Vredeport on 24 July 1900. He was later killed in action at Nooitgedacht on 13 December 1900 and is buried in Nooitgedacht No. 2 cemetery. In this action Sergeant Donald Farmer earned the first Victoria Cross won by a Cameron Highlander. Sold with further details.
