George II (1727-1760), Porto Bello Taken, 1739, a silver medal, unsigned, half-length figure of Admiral Vernon three-quarters left with staff, legend reads verno (sic), rev. ships entering harbour, 37mm, 17.00g (MI II, 536/110; McCormick-Goodhart 50; Betts 215; cf. Ford XIII, 530, same dies). Cast and chased; minor test marks on edge, otherwise very fine and extremely rare; far superior to the Ford specimen £1,500-2,000
