David II (1329-1371), Second coinage, Groat, class A, Edinburgh, mm. cross pattée, small young bust, tressure of six arcs, trefoils in spandrels, saltire stops, u in dauid, 4.63g/10h (cf. SCBI 35, 359; cf. B 2, fig. 250; S 5092). Small section of legend flat, otherwise nearly very fine with shiny grey toning, rare, the exact variety not listed in Burns £200-250
