Served in the Great War with the Mesopotamia Railways. Post-war, employed with the Bengal and Nagpur Railways and served with the Volunteers. Awarded the Volunteer Force Long Service Medal by I.A.O. 656 of October 1930, and the the Efficiency Medal (India) by I.A.O. 2498 of October 1942. During the Second World War he served as C.S.M. in the regiment. With some copied research.
