Lance-Corporal C. F. Robinson, 1st Battalion King’s Royal Rifle Corps, was a survivor from the troopship Warren Hastings when she ran aground and was wrecked off the Island of Reunion, on 14 January 1897. Mentioned in the despatch of 8 April 1897 from Commander G. E. Holland, R.I.M., D.S.O., to the Director of the Royal Indian Marine, as having been saved from drowning by Lieutenants Windham and Huddleston, R.I.M. Also entitled to the India General Service Medal 1854-95, 1 clasp, Lushai 1889-92.
