An 1831 pattern general officer’s mameluke for an officer of the East India Company, the curved 80cm pipe-backed blade back-edged for the last 25cm, with feint traces of etched decoration including HEIC lion etc, regulation gilt cross-guard with crossed scimitar and baton to the ecusson, engraved back-strap, the grip plaques of polished staghorn with no provision for a sword-knot, complete with its brass scabbard with two hanging rings, the grip plaques probably a later replacement otherwise good condition overall condition of blade as noted £200-250
