A cut-steel hilted officer’s mameluke, the 80cm pipe-backed blade back-edged for the last 25cm, retailed by Hebbert & Hume, Pall Mall East, London, the blade undecorated but for retailers details and the crowned royal cypher for William IV and legend ‘Warranted’, cut-steel cross-guard with scalloped edges, the quillons terminating in ball finials, back-strap cut with panels, ivory grip plaques set with cut steel rosettes, complete with its steel scabbard with two hanging rings, blade retaining all original finish, scabbard a little worn and pitted but otherwise in good condition overall £300-350
