Albert Edward Barnes was born in 1927. He enlisted into the Army at Chatham on 7 October 1948. With the Army catering Corps he served with the British Army of the Rhone, February 1949-March 1950, and in the Middle East, April 1951-April 1954. As a Lance-Corporal he was discharged on 8 January 1965 after completing his period of service. He then enlisted into the T. & A.V.R. at Durham on 1 March 1966, being discharged at his own request on 22 July 1968. The G.S.M. above, his only medal, was awarded to him on 17 September 2004. Sold with copied Certificates of Service and copied medal forwarding letter.
