Kidbrooke Rifle Volunteers Shooting Trophy. A very fine hallmarked silver, London 1860 by ‘SS’ and ‘WN’, 24.5cm in height and of traditional two handled design with gilt interior, decorated in repousse style with sprays of oak leaves and central badge comprising crossed rifles bearing a circular strap, ‘Kidbrooke Rifle Volunteers’ enclosing a strung bugle horn, a plumed shako rests on top of the circle; a reverse panel showing the recipient’s details has now had these details erased, very good condition £150-250
Note. The 7th Kent Rifle Volunteers (Kidbrooke) were formed in 1859 and became part of the 1st Administrative Battalion (HQ Blackheath). The corps was disbanded in 1869.
