Frank Bannister was born in Brentwood, Essex, lived at Great Warley and enlisted at Warley. Serving in the 9th Battalion Essex Regiment, he was killed in action on 8 July 1916. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial.
