Robin) mounted as worn, contact marks, fine and better (7) £80-100

Eric William Hewson was born in Barrow-on-Furness on 23 September 1901. He entered the Royal Navy as a Boy Artificer on 27 July 1917. Hewson was ranked as an Engine Room Artificer 5th Class in January 1922 when on Indus; Acting 4th Class in January 1923 when on Ramillies; 4th Class in May 1924 and 3rd Class in January 1926 when on Hawkins. At the time of the award of his Long Service Medal he was ranked as an Engine Room Artificer 2nd Class on the Robin. The vessel was a river gun boat, built in sections in Yarrow and assembled in Hong Kong in 1936 for service with the West River Flotilla. Sold with copied service paper.
