Ernest Pullen was born in Stoke D’Abernon, Surrey, and living in Tolworth, enlisted at Kingston-on-Thames, Surrey. He initially served in the East Surrey Regiment. Serving in the 2nd Battalion Manchester Regiment, he was killed in action on 21 September 1917, aged 34 years. Pullen was buried in the Coxyde Military Cemetery, Belgium. He was the son of John and Louisa Pullen and husband of M. M. Pullen of 20 Beaconfield Road, Tolworth, Surbiton, Surrey. With damaged card box of issue and Record Office forwarding slip addressed to Mrs M. M. Pullen, 2 June 1922.
