Joseph Convery was born in and enlisted at Glasgow. Serving with ‘N’ Battery, Royal Horse Artillery, he was awarded the Military Medal. With the same unit he was killed in action on 10 August 1918. He was buried in the Beacon Cemetery, Sailly-Laurette, Somme, France.
