Montserrat, Tortola-Montserrat, Countermarking action in the Virgin Islands prior to 1801, Quarter-Dollar, a cut quarter segment of a Spanish-American 8 Réales, obv. countermarked with incuse t, later countermarked with Montserrat design raised within a shaped indent, nearly obliterating the t countermark, rev. countermarked m raised within a square indent in each corner, 5.88g/90.7 gr (cf. The t countermark is only recorded on two or three cut quarter-dollars. Evidence would point to this incuse t being an earlier Tortola action
