Thomas Finlayson, was born in Inverness on 7 June 1892. A Commercial Businessmen by occupation, he attested for service in the 4th Battalion Cameron Highlanders on 14 September 1914. He was promoted to Lance-Corporal in May 1915 and Acting Corporal in October 1915. Finlayson served with the B.E.F. in France, 19 February 1915-4 April 1916 and was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant in the 3/4th [Reserve] Battalion Cameron Highlanders, on 5 August 1916. He served in Macedonia from 6 December 1916 to 3 January 1918. In January 1918 he transferred to the Indian Army and served with the 35th Sikhs in India. Latterly serving with the Supply and Transport Corps, he retired on 12 August 1922. With copied service papers and m.i.c.
