B. J. Fairfax-Francklin was a Civil Administration Officer who was involved in the action at Gazi, British East Africa, on 7 October 1914. He was an Assistant Junior Staff Surveyor in 1914 and Assistant District Commissioner in May 1915. He also served as a Corporal in the Nairobi Defence Force. With copied m.i.c’s. and roll extracts. Listed on one m.i.c. under his full surname for the 1914-15 Star and Victory Medal as a Civil Administration Officer; and listed on another under a reduced variation of his surname for the British War Medal as a Corporal in the Nairobi Defence Force.
