Andrew McCutcheon Mayne, a Farmer from Umtali, Southern Rhodesia, attested for the 2nd Rhodesia Regiment on 23 November 1914. He served in East Africa from 9 March 1915. Private Mayne died of Blackwater Fever at Dothumi Hospital on 9 February 1917, aged 36 years, and was buried in the Dothumi Military Cemetery. After the war he was reburied in the Morogoro Cemetery, Tanganyika. He was the son of Thomas and Fanny McCutcheon Mayne, of Newtownards, Co. Down, Ireland.
