Albert George Robinson was born in Draffham, Norfolk, on 23 July 1900. He entered the Royal Navy as a Boy 2nd Class on the training ship Powerful in November 1915 and was advanced to Boy 1st Class in March 1916. At that rank he was posted to the battleship Royal Oak on 1 May 1916 and saw service on her at the battle of Jutland. Whilst on board the ship he was promoted to Ordinary Seaman in July 1918 and Able Seaman in July 1919. He was awarded his Great War medals whilst serving on the Admiralty yacht Enchantress, October 1920-March 1922. Robinson was invalided from the service on 6 September 1922 suffering from tuberculosis. With copied service paper and roll extract.
