Albert Utley was killed in action on 10 June 1944, when his ship the S.S. Dungrange was sunk by E-Boats off the Isle of Wight at a Normandy convoy assembly point. The son of Mrs. A. E. Utley of Moorthorpe, Yorkshire, he was 21 years of age and is commemorated on the Tower Hill Memorial.
