Charles Newcombe was born in the Parish of Lutterworth, Leicestershire, and enlisted into the 69th Regiment on 13 October 1806, aged 24, a stocking maker by trade. He served 7 years and 73 days as a Drummer or Trumpeter before being promoted to Sergeant in January 1814, and was discharged at Colchester on 10 October 1816, on reduction of the Battalion. Sold with copy discharge papers.
