D.C.M. London Gazette 11 March 1920. ‘Gnr., 329th Sge. By., R.G.A. (Paddington)’ ‘For continual devotion to duty when in charge of the wireless station. At Bac St. Maur, in September, 1918, when the observation post was heavily shelled, he kept sending messages through until his aerial was broken by shell fire. As soon as it was possible he repaired the aerial and re-established communication with brigade headquarters’.
