Clifford Rupert Stuart entered the war as a Private in the 1/16th Battalion London Regiment. From the Hampshire Regiment he was appointed a 2nd Lieutenant on 12 March 1915. Appointed a Lieutenant in the 5th (Service) Battalion Connaught Rangers on 1 July 1917. Served in Macedonia and Palestine.
