Cyril William Habgood was born in Woodchester, Gloucestershire and lived and enlisted at Stroud, Gloucestershire. He served initially as Private 19153 in the Gloucestershire Regiment before being transferred to the Royal West Kent Regiment. Serving with the 1st Battalion, he died of wounds on 20 October 1918, aged 22 years. He was buried in the Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manancourt. He was the son of Mrs Clara Ann Habgood of Ebley, Stroud, Gloucestershire.
