Pair: Private J. E. Muddiman, Royal Fusiliers, killed in action, France/Flanders, 15 November 1916

British War and Victory Medals (PS-9893 Pte., R. Fus.); together with two other British War and Victory Medal pairs (GS-65627 Pte. A. E. Ette, R. Fus.; PS-9468 Pte. W. M. Taylor, R. Fus.) pairs to ‘Muddiman’ and ‘Taylor’ in damaged card boxes of issue, pair to ‘Ette’ with slight edge bruising, good very fine; others extremely fine (6) £80-100

Joseph Edward Muddiman was born in Long Buckley, lived at Rugeley and enlisted at Long Buckley. Serving with the 4th Battalion Royal Fusiliers, he was killed in action, France/Flanders, on 15 November 1916, aged 31 years. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Employed as a Schoolmaster, he was the youngest son of Mr and Mrs William Muddiman of 4 West End Cottages, Long Buckley, Rugby.
