Five: Private G. R. Jones, Royal Army Medical Corps

R. Jones’, extremely fine and a rare example of the award of the Atlantic Star to a military recipient (6) £60-80

George Ronald Jones, a native of Guildford, Surrey, was born in June 1911, and enlisted in the Royal Army Medical Corps at Aldershot in October 1939. Subsequently appointed a Medical Orderly, he was actively employed on hospital ships and carriers, among them the Dinard.

Sold with a quantity of original documentation, including the recipient’s Soldier’s Service and Pay Book, Certified Copy of Attestation, certificate confirming entitlement to the above described campaign awards and an identity card issued aboard the hospital carrier Dinard in April 1942.
