Royal Navy L.S. & G.C., V.R., wide suspension (Willm. Dee, Captn. Forecastle, H.M.S. Flying Fish. 22 Yrs.) good very fine £350-400

William Dee was born at Thorpe, Essex, and entered the Navy on 6 March 1829, as a seaman aboard H.M.S. Plumper. He served subsequently in H.M. Ships Barham, Thalia, Columbine, Apollo, Winchester, Spartan and Flying Fish. He was paid off from Flying Fish on 13 December 1851, having received his Medal and Gratuity on the 8th of that month. Further service followed aboard St Vincent, Dauntless and Asia, from which ship he was finally discharged to shore on 9 May 1867. Sold with copied service records.
