555 clasps issued. John Mortimer is confirmed as a Private Royal Marines aboard Russell. A man with this name is shown on the roll as a ‘Passenger’ for the clasp ‘Venerable 16 Jany 1814’ (42 issued), and another with the clasps ‘Algiers’ and ‘Navarino’ which was sold together with his China 1842 and Naval L.S. & G.C. by Sotheby in 1912.
