Yeoman of Signals Dick Thorburn served aboard H.M.S. Royal Ulsterman for Operation Torch, the naval invasion of North Africa. This large Landing Ship conveyed more than 400 officers and 8,000 troops during the landings and went on subsequently to serve in the Salerno landing as Headquarters ship. H.M.S. Quebec was a landing craft base at Inverary. Sold with some additional research.
