Military Medal, G.V.R., with Second Award Bar (17739 Cpl., 15/Fd. Co. R.E.); 1914 Star with Bar (17739 2.Cpl., R.E.); British War and Victory Medals, M.I.D. (A.Sjt., R.E.); Army L.S. & G.C., G.V.R., 2nd issue with fixed suspension (1852259 W.O.Cl.II., M.M. R.E.) light contact marks, otherwise very fine (5) £200-250

The 15th Field Coy was part of 8th Division (together with 2nd Field Coy and 8th Signal Coy) which arrived in France between 6 October and 22 November 1914. In March 1915, 8th Division took part in the battle of Neuve Chapelle and, in May 1915, in the following battle of Aubers Ridge. On the eve of the battle of the Somme 8th Division was in III Corps, 4th Army, and on the first day of the battle, 1st July 1916, were in action around La Boiselle.
