Private Michael McInerney was born at St Mary’s, Limerick and enlisted at Tralee, County Kerry. He was killed in action France and Flanders during the legendary rear-guard action at Etreux 27 August 1914, whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion, Royal Munster Fusiliers..
