Private John T. V. Roberts, 2nd Battalion West Riding Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 8 September 1914. He later became a prisoner-of-war for which service he was subsequently awarded the M.S.M. Entitled to the 1914 Star, British War and Victory Medals.
