Just two ‘Salonika’ M.S.M’s. awarded to the South Lancashire Regiment.
Corporal James Bailey, South Lancashire Regiment, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 6 September 1915. Later as a Serjeant with the 9th Battalion in Salonika he was mentioned in despatches and awarded the M.S.M. Entitled to the 1914-15 Star, British War and Victory Medals. He was transferred to the Class ‘Z’ Reserve on 9 May 1919. With copied gazette extracts and m.i.c. for the M.S.M. and W.W.1 medals.
