Private W. C. Kewell, Wiltshire Regiment entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 5 January 1915. Awarded the Silver War Badge. Driver George Kirton, R.F.A. entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 6 March 1915. Private William J. Saunders, 23rd Battalion London Regiment entered the Egypt theatre of war on 25 September 1914. He later served with the Suffolk Regiment. Private Thomas Sloan, Army Veterinary Corps entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 28 July 1915.

Samuel Allot Towler was born in Armley, Leeds. A Spinner by occupation, he attested for the Cheshire Regiment on 15 September 1893, aged 22 years. With the 2nd Battalion he served in South Africa, January 1900-October 1902 for which he was awarded the Queen’s medal with clasps for Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Johannesburg and the King’s medal with two clasps. He was later awarded the Army L.S. & G.C. with a gratuity of £5, resigning from the Army in March 1913. Towler re-enlisted on 30 August 1914, aged 44 years and on 26 June 1915 was posted to Egypt with the 2nd Battalion Cheshire Regiment. Later becoming sick, he was returned to England and posted to the 12th Battalion Royal Lancaster Regiment. Discharged on 8 November 1917 as no longer fit for war service. Awarded the Silver War Badge.
