‘At 12.30 a.m. on the 2nd September 1910, a man named Law fell into the Granville Dock, Dover, the depth being 20 feet and the place badly lighted. John Newton plunged in, and kept him afloat till they were picked up by a boat.’ (R.H.S. Case no. 37,910)
