Norman John Windeatt served in the Royal Berkshire regiment from March 1917 until transferring to the Royal Flying Corps in March 1918. Subsequently employed out in Egypt until the end of the War, his service record notes that he received multiple wounds on 8 August and that he was demobilised in March 1920; accompanying research refers.
