Benedict Godfrey Allen Bell was killed in action on 6 April 1918, while serving as a pilot in No. 48 Squadron, his Bristol F2b being downed in a combat with three Fokkers over Lamotte - he is believed to have fallen victim to Leutnant H. J. Wolff of Jasta 11. Bell has no known grave and is commemorated on the Arras Flying Service Memorial.
