Private Charles Barnes, Royal Fusiliers, entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 1 June 1915. He later served with the R.F.C. and R.A.F. Entitled to the 1914-15 Star. Appointed a Pilot Officer in the R.A.F.V.R. Training Branch in September 1946, being promoted to Flying Officer in April 1947. Awarded the Cadet Forces Medal in 1953, he resigned his commission in January 1954. With copied m.i.c. and gazette extracts.
