Philip, who was from the Matobo District, enlisted in the British South Africa Police in September 1937 and served in the C.I.D. in Bulawayo. Awarded the War Medal 1939-45, and his L.S. & G.C. Medal in February 1956, he retired in November 1958; sold with copied retirement portrait photograph from Mapolisa.
