D.C.M. London Gazette 30 June 1915. ‘For conspicuous gallantry and excellent work throughout the campaign as a Signaller, repairing wires under heavy fire and showing great energy and devotion to duty on all occasions.’
Private Edward J. Austin, 2nd Battalion Grenadier Guards entered the France/Flanders theatre of war on 13 August 1914. Entitled to clasp. With copied m.i.c. and citation details.
