Royal Ayrshire & Wigtown Rifles (The Prince Regent’s) Militia, a very fine officer’s 1855 pattern waist belt clasp, centrally the star of the Order of the Thistle in silver and gilt, with unit title in surround, ‘PRINCE REGENT’S ROYAL AYR & WIGTOWN MILITIA’, matching bench marks, ‘1’ and maker’s mark, ‘J & Co’, this example does not appear to have had a green enamel centre backing, some wear to the plating and the gilt high spots rubbed £80-120
