Lance-Corporal Clifford Abraham Moon, K.O.S.B. entered the Gallipoli theatre of war on 24 May 1915. He later served with the Scottish Rifles. Later still, commissioned into the 9th Battalion K.O.Y.L.I., he was killed in action in France on 22 March 1918. Having no known grave, his name is commemorated on the Pozieres Memorial. His father, Charles Moon of Moor View, Yeadon, Leeds, made a claim for his late son’s medals in November 1920. With copied m.i.c.
