Charles John Deshon was commissioned an Ensign by Purchase on 18 September 1817; becoming a Lieutenant by Purchase in October 1825; Captain by Purchase in April 1826 and Major by Purchase in June 1837. Received the brevet of Lieutenant-Colonel on 13 November 1839. Married Charlotte Jane Adams at Belgaum, India on 19 May 1835. With some copied research.
