The Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars were ‘Desert Rats’ and they spearheaded the 7th Brigade in ‘Operation Desert Sabre’.

With two CD’s containing the Journal of the Queen’s Royal Irish Hussars, 1959-93 - Boyd is first mentioned in the 1983 edition and by the last edition in 1993 he is a Corporal; several times mentioned in the journals for his sporting prowess - in track and field events, football and boxing; his photograph also appears in the journal. Together with a Q.R.I.H. booklet; a copied ‘Operation Granby’ nominal roll - Corporal Boyd served in “D” Squadron, and other notes.
