Lieutenant-Colonel George Flamstead, 18th Royal Irish Regiment, served in the Burma War, 1852-53, and was present at the destruction of the stockades in the Rangoon River, the capture of Rangoon and Prome, and the greater part of the operations against Myattoon in the Donabew District. He married Harriet Adelaide Frembly in Gibraltar, c.1848 and retired from the Army on 23 February 1875. With some copied research.
