Egypt and Sudan 1882-89, dated reverse, 1 clasp, Tel-El-Kebir (2646 Pte. C. E. Dyson, 2/High. L.I.) clasp backstrap fitted with a brooch, edge bruising, very fine £140-180

Charles Edward Dyson was born in Halifax and enlisted in Leeds on 4 February 1880, aged 24 years, 5 months. He served overseas (in Egypt) for 155 days and was discharged at his own request and with a payment of £20 at Edinburgh on 8 February 1883. His intended place of residence was given as 4 Gaol Lane, Halifax.

With original Parchment Certificate of Discharge and a damaged (in three parts) ‘Horse Guards’ letter dated 23 August 1883, acknowledging his earlier correspondence claiming a medal for services in Egypt.
